a.m. and I belong to the city tonight.
For a few more days and then reel me in, oh Mexico, Where the stars are thick as milk and the black velvet blanket covers me. wall to wall horizon whispering mountains 'we miss you, come home'. close to overload, here I'm another whirring machine shorting out, sparking & hissing like a cornered snake. slither me down a long asphalt ribbon winding along stones & blue jewels glitter on the shore. I am there now. The noise is fading. receding like a wave and I belong to the city tonight... but tomorrow, after that, I go home. ~ |
