Radio Doom.
4:00 a.m. and I belong to the city tonight.
For a few more days and then
reel me in, oh Mexico,
Where the stars are thick as milk
and the black velvet blanket covers me.
wall to wall horizon
whispering mountains
'we miss you, come home'.
close to overload, here
I'm another whirring machine
shorting out, sparking & hissing
like a cornered snake.
slither me down a long asphalt ribbon
winding along stones
& blue jewels glitter on the shore.
I am there now.
The noise is fading.
receding like a wave
and I belong to the city tonight...
but tomorrow,
after that,
I go home.
